Excitement in a library. Would you believe it, they have fire drills too! Twice in a day too >.> Lamed out and took a few pics of the closed down main door.
Photos of the same thing here :p )
As you can tell, I was really bored from mugging. Nice break it was, though ear-jarring it may be.

I ate lunch at 1pm on Monday, 2pm on Tuesday, 3pm on Wednesday, and 4pm yesterday. Now then, I wonder when I'll eat lunch today... :p

(As a side note, 'mugging club' is bad for your health cos we eat meals at random times)

Am back [02 Dec 2006|08:17pm]
[ mood | bouncy ]

from 2 weeks in Shanghai (mostly to visit relatives), and from the long hiatus from LJ-posting. Have brought back with me completed Math and Chem homework, and one page of GP >.>

Asides from that, the trip was really cool. Literally and figuratively. Oh and I got myself quite a few anime series that I'm sure will last well into next year (especially given my upcoming holiday schedule).

Other interesting things from the trip include the whole Harry Potter series (well those I don't already own) for the equivalence of about 2 Singaporean bucks apiece, and a 1-GB MP4 Player for 299 RMB (which translates to roughly 60 bucks).

Oh, and I went to 嘉兴, quite an eyeful. And even cooler. Sorta. The LAN center (so to speak) there costs 1.50 RMB per hour, and has AOE2, an old favourite of mine :p.

I think I'll add to this entry as I remember more and more, since time is short now. But it was fun alright.

One. Think of 15 short bits of interesting stuff about yourself. And they’ve gotta be true.
Two. Come up with 5 false statements regarding yourself, but for fun's sake keep them in the threshold of believability.
Three. Jumble them all up together and list them in any order.
Four. Post them on LJ and let people guess which the five false ones are!
Five. Get 5 others to do the same.

1. I have thought, at some point in time, that pointing or stretching out my middle finger is cool, for no apparent reason.
2. I have never cried because of any sentimental incidents actually related to me. (Crying because of fictional stuff or being physically hurt doesn't count.)
3. I have come within touching distance of an actual naked girl. (Edit: This does not count kindergarten showering when males get to shower with females at times >.>)
4. I have fought physically with someone before.
5. I have washed out my ears (to clean out the wax) a total of one time in my life. Though I've dug the wax out quite a few times. And the wax was around the size of the top portion of my pinkie.
6. I am currently hooked on an anime (and its corresponding manga) that features nudity and groping breasts.
7. I always wanted to have my birthday celebrated with the McDonalds celebration thing.
8. I have not had any soft toys since primary school began.
9. My favourite childhood author was Enid Blyton.
10. I love Hercule Poirot and his little quirks, not to mention the way he solves crime. My favorite Agatha Christie book features this little Belgian (hope I spelt this right) with a big mustache and an even bigger ego.
11. I have not been afraid of any bugs since primary school when I was bitten by mosquitoes and lices (at least, I think that's what they were) so much that I went around killing every single bug I see.
12. I still know (and keep in contact with to a certain extent) people from as far back as P2.
13. I usually do not have any major sickness that stops me from coming to school -- those movement-restricting sicknesses (such as flus, ect) usually come into play during the holidays.
14. Once I started primary school, I never had any more bladder trouble or any similar problems.
15. I know how to dance my fac dance. (I'm from Athena, btw)
16. I have not went through a single major exam period without playing or slacking at most of the times. (This excludes lower primary exams because I can't remember whether I did or not then >.>)
17. I have a habit of talking and arguing with myself.
18. People tell me my eyelashes are long and that they would kill to get eyelashes like mine.
19. I have bent my specs before in a tantrum by throwing them violently on the floor.
20. I did the last Econs ILP by myself completely, at least as far as content stuff goes.

Hm... nobody else left I can really tag XD. Well then, I'll just tag whoever responds to this and have not yet done this meme.

WTF [30 Aug 2006|05:48pm]
[ mood | surprised ]

Belgium EO sounds like Buggy the clown! Note to self: must check up their VAs...

Edit: VERY MUCH SO! This is frigging eerie. They must have the same VA... no way this way of talking could exist for two different people!! (Come to think of it... maybe Toei and Raiku got inspiration from Buggy for Belgium EO... :p)

Edit 2: Just checked on Wikipedia. Woot, am right. This guy is the perfect voice for crack characters! XD

Just watched Final Destination 3 today. At the movie screening. Personally, I don't think it was that bad. (Which is probably why it's just NC16 and not R21). In fact, I was more scared in the lead-up to the deaths than the actual deaths. Because during the lead-up, you don't know what is going to happen. And after the actual deaths, you'd be like, ok... so that's it? Which is why people say the best fears are unseen, I suppose... Imagination can be a powerful tool.

SP Sux [22 Jul 2006|11:40pm]
[ mood | pissed off ]

Bleargh. Dragged my ass down to SP today for Weiqi competition at 11.30. It was supposedly to start at 12. Guess what, it got delayed by 5 hours or so. WTFFF. LIKE ADMIN PROBLEMS ALSO DONT NEED TO WAIT TILL NOW TO SOLVE RIGHT. AND NOT MAKE US WAIT A FRIGGING FIVE GODDAMN HOURS ON YOUR FRIGGING DECISION. What's more, when some competitors (RJC and RI participants actually, but in this case my sympathies are with them) approached them to draw out of the competition, as they had some MAP festival or something, which by original standards meant they'd only miss the last round of today, but with the pro-ness of SP meant the prospect of missing EVERY round of today, they were told by the organisers that it was "their fault" as they did not "inform them before-hand", and now it would be "a great trouble for them (the organisers) to rearrange everything just because of them (the competitors)". Or so I heard. And because of that, they were denied a refund. In fact, people who wished to withdraw had in actual fact only two possibilities -- a refund if they're lucky and non if they're not (we had to pay to enter the competition). LIKE WTF. SHOULDNT YOU BE COMPENSATING US INSTEAD?! OH WOW THANKS. I know it's great trouble organising three competitions concurrently, but firstly, this was not the first year this happened, and the last few times it was certainly not this bad, and secondly, HOW WAS THAT NOT A VALID REASON?! Bleargh. I seriously doubt that there'll be many schools left to participate in this competition next year. (If it is indeed held again at all).

And people wonder why I have no life. [20 Jul 2006|08:31pm]
[ mood | blank ]

My mom is nagging at me at how I use the com too much, and how she never sees me working. Bleargh. While I'm not disagreeing with her on this point, she's saying that I should spend every second of my free time doing practice questions. Probably this new onslaught is brought on by me telling her I failed Physics (S). I fear to see what telling her I failed Chem even worse entails (U). Whoopee doo. Oh by the way, she's saying like I should be doing it at a cram school. (Discipline myself such that first, I don't touch the TV or com until absolutely necessary ie work, and second, to time myself when doing practice questions. BLEARGH.) GRAH. (In the meantime, to console myself, I'm telling myself that I at least got 2 more As and a B.)

What's more, she's "backing" everything up with personal anecdotes. Look, I can't manage everything the same way, ok? I destress by watching TV, reading mangas, etc. I do NOT destress by cracking my head on questions I cannot do. Conversely, I get more stressed. And there's no point in always revising questions I know how to do already. Oh, and I'm tuning her out right now. Bah.

Of course, I'm not saying she doesn't have a point. It probably IS due to the fact that I didn't do enough practice for Chem and Physics that I failed so (un)spectacularly. Man, a science student failing his sciences. Maybe I should have went into Arts after all...

Thusly, I shall resolve to do more TYS questions every weekend, at least a few hours at each time. Build things up slowly. Once (if) I finish one run, then start over again until I'm pretty sure about all the questions. Rinse and repeat.

Hopefully, I'd get better grades keeping this schedule as a 'habit'. Or at least more central grades instead of grades that lie on both extreme ends of the spectrum.

Man, Animorphs has really hit rock bottom... [28 May 2006|11:25pm]
[ mood | cranky ]

Yesterday night I went to the book exhibition (or book fair or whatever) at Suntec, and after digging around, lo and behold I find the first book of Animorphs selling at one buck each. When before I recall the original price to be ~$11. Rules man. (Of course, there was only the first book, which means it was meant to attract people to pick up the series, and continue buying the series, but still...)

Oh yes, my shoulder apparently went through yet ANOTHER slip-out recently, or more accurately last friday, during inline skating. I fell, used my wrists to cushion myself, and the next thing I know my arm was feeling funny and hurting. (I was probably travelling too fast. I doubt a normal fall would result in this.) Yay. >.> I really better get it x-rayed sometime.

In other news, I have finished watching Kamen Rider Blade. I think it's quite cool :p. I'm also reading One Piece manga. I sense a blatantly obvious recurring theme throughout the whole thing. Still, it's fun to read.

Things to look forward to (not):
Block tests

Am trying out the new Sponsor account. If it doesn't change my layout that much, I'll stick with it. I mean, so far it's just one row of ads at the side. Can be ignored totally :p.

In other news, I can't seem to find the my O' Levels result slip. Die.

Oh and Boon, lighten up. It's not like it's the first time your LoudHailer was khoped and used by others :p. (Though I still have no details whatsoever on how all this came about...) Maybe you should get yourself something like an Anti-Burglar Alarm (TM) and attach it to the LoudHailer. Though I bet it'll be neutralised instantly.

Hectic happenings [08 Mar 2006|09:43pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]

So basically, as far as 06S64 is concerned, 2 people have moved out to other JCs, and 2 to other classes (due to their H1 CLHI. Screw the school admin.) 4 new others have joined us. So... total no net change? Hope to know the new people better soon.

In continuation to my last post, I didn't go for the competition after all. Because it would have taken me too long to reach the venue from school, and I would have thus lost the first round by default anyways.

Wasn't planning to run for council (was eyeing the fac comm instead), but one thing led to another and now I've joined up with Victor's party. (They didn't recruit me or anything, I volunteered) Whee, vote for us! :p (Actually, I joined just to see what kind of experience I can get from campaigning and running.) I'm wondering about whether I should want to get in or not -- seriously I'm more interested in fac comm. But council shouldn't be that bad...

One of the non-IP students in my class tricked the whole class by coming back today (he didn't get in before appealing started) and saying he ponned NJ. Everyone believed him lor, and actually thought he really didn't make it. Until the CT session when we saw the namelist and saw his name on it. There were calls for bonding after that was seen ><. But seriously, I'm just glad that he made it. I recall him saying the other time when he came over from NJ during the appeal period, and we were playing bbal, that he'll either call us once/if he receives the call, or he'll guai lan us and pretend he didn't get through until the last moment. And I remember thinking then that I don't care if he does that, as long as he got in. And indeed, that's what matters most. :D

Updates [26 Feb 2006|09:30pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

Darn. It seems like I can't go for JTS. I just realised I have a Weiqi competition next Sunday 10-5. If the JTS was dinner, I'd be fine. As it is, no matter how early or late the lunch is, it's impossible for me to make it. ARGH. (And most of the class can't make it for a dinner anyways.) Darn. Am considering ponning the competition... if I don't do well in the first half on Saturday, I'll pon the Sunday part. (Which would make it my first time ponning, but who cares xp). Oh yes, on the same Saturday I also have LEAPS make-up. Go me, so busy.

In other news, I've gotten a new handphone. One with a very auspicious price tag. Yayz :p. Oh, and finally one with a camera.

Also, my group has reached, somewhat, a peak in lameness for our Econs ILP presentation. (4O ppl recall LA? We're doing a version of that >.>) Go us.

Oh yes. My OG, which has remained pretty inactive since the third day of orientation (after which we formed into classes), has apparently decided to want a meeting next week! Which has my competition, LEAPS, and JTS all on the weekend! WHY, I ask you. WHY is next weekend so popular. Especially when I'm all free this weekend, and nothing happened this week. Life is just such a bitch. Bah. (Though for STJ and OG outing, that's probably because posting results will be out soon, and it's best to do this before they're out. That makes perfect sense. But the competition and LEAPS just had to pop in, did they not. Hurrah.)
